Frequently Asked Questions

Why loose leaf tea?

Loose leaf tea is best for optimum health benefits, absorption and taste. Additionally most tea bags are made with a mixture of bleached paper and micro plastics. When seeped these chemicals and micro plastic particles leach into the tea and get consumed. When opting for our loose leaf tea blends you know exactly what you're getting: delicious high quality herbs and nothing else! We leave our tea at its purest form, we do not use teas with any added dyes, colors, or flavors. We only purchase organic lab-tested herbals for quality assurance.

When is the best time to drink tea?

We encourage you to get into the habit of drinking tea daily! For caffeinated blends we recommend you consume these early in the day to avoid sleep disturbance. Our non-caffeinated herbal blends can be enjoyed at any time of the day! We recommend enjoying sleep and calming blends in the late afternoon, during times of high stress, or before bedtime.

Will it affect any medications I’m taking?

As with any supplement, tea or herb we always recommend discussing this with your doctor.

Can I drink while pregnant or nursing?

Due to an over abundance of caution we recommend always checking with your physician first. With that said we will clearly label which teas should not be consumed while pregnant or nursing.

What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of our products, we are not offering returns or exchanges at this time. All sales are final. If you received a broken or incorrect item please contact us. If you do not like the taste of a tea we encourage you to try it chilled instead of hot. Temperature of tea can vary the taste drastically. You can also try adding a dash of honey.

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?

Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient school of medicine which can be traced back at least 3,000 years. It has helped millions of people with mild and severe illnesses alike. Additionally, it has contributed to many saved lives through countless epidemics for its healing properties.

TCM is not "alternative" medicine, it is a whole medical system in itself that is an equal counterpart to Western medical care. In 2015, Tu You You was the first female to accept a Nobel Peace Prize for her work in fighting malaria with the herb Qing Hao (also known as wormwood or artesimin). Her contribution saved millions of lives and has been referred to as "arguably the most important pharmaceutical intervention in the last half-century”  by the Lasker Foundation.

Both Olivia and Juliann have their Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is a post bachelors 4 year medical program. Additionally, in order to then practice Traditional Chinese Medicine you must past four national medical board examinations to obtain licensure. With this licensure both Olivia and Juliann are NCCAOM Board Certified Herbalistis and Acupuncture Physicians.

What are herbals?

Herbals are a branch in Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves the utilization of plants and minerals for their healing benefits. TCM Herbology is the study of collections, properties, and clinical applications of Chinese natural medicine.

Western medicine came to China only about 100 years ago. Prior to that and since prehistoric times, Chinese herbs played a leading role in preventing and treating diseases for Chinese people, and people all over the world.

With the use of modern technology, the pharmacological properties of Chinese Herbal Medicine are now much easier to study and observe. We strive to make this amazing healing modality accessible and easy to use.

Why do the herbal packs contain organic flax seed?

Simply put, organic farming practices are better for the environment, and what's better for the environment is better for you. The health of you and the health of your environment are directly correlated and the two can never be separated.

Where are your products made?

Currently, Juliann's dad is making all of our herbal packs with love by hand (talk about support from the family!). The mugs are handmade with love from a talented ceramicist. The tea blends are hand crafted and created by Olivia and Juliann and then packaged in South Carolina by a family owned company. We firmly believe in USA-made and shopping small. We ensure integrity and community is always at the forefront of our business.
